Amish-Made 8 Frame Beehive - (2)Deeps & (1)Medium

sold in last days

The pages of American History have been laced with the beautiful craftsmanship and undying work ethic of the Amish. Since 1852, when the first Langstroth hive was invented, the Amish have been fashioning hives like this one to give honeybees a new home and a fighting chance.

Made in the USA, this hive has engrained itself in the minds of Americans as "The Standard" beehive. Its 2 deep brood boxes and 1 medium honey super is recognized from sea to shining sea as one of the most versatile and common configurations among bee enthusiasts.

Why Choose an 8 Frame Hive?

The major benefit of an 8 frame hive is that it weighs 20% less than a 10 frame hive. Honey is heavy. A 10 frame brood box that is full of honey can weigh up to 90 lbs while medium boxes can weigh up to 60lbs. A 20% difference can save your back.

Why Choose Busy Bees 'N' More Hives?

In the pursuit of discovering durably crafted Amish-made beehives, Busy Bees ‘N’ More traveled the countryside of Ohio for just the right woodworkers.

Throughout American history, the Amish have built their name to be akin to authentic artisanship. They’ve stood the test of time and passed on their genuine expertise from generation to generation. Now known for their high-quality woodwork, the Amish create meticulously crafted works of art.

In today’s marketplace, you’d be hard-pressed to find products that have the integrity, precision, and long-lasting value that the Amish provide. Instead, you’ll find the market has run rampant with cheap imported products that have been made to sell, not to be used.

These hives are made in the USA from Eastern White Pines that were once sourced for creating log cabins and housing the pioneers of America -- the Amish now use it to house your bees. Regionally and responsibly sourced from Michigan and Pennsylvania, we guarantee your new beehive’s lumber has been quality-checked and will be a beautiful showpiece in your yard for years to come.

Our beehives leave the warehouse in mint condition. In transit wooden beehives can become damaged.

We ship your beehives out during business hours -- we typically ship within 24 to 48 hours of when the order was placed. In some cases we do ship your product out on the same day you order it, but if not, you can expect it to be shipped on the following day.

Please note that if you are ordering an assembled product, this may take a little more time.

We use both FedEx and UPS to ship our products, whichever is faster. We ship from central Ohio and on average products take 1 to 5 business days to reach your house.

We try our very best to get your beehives to you as fast as possible.

Depending on your order, at times our beehives can be too large to ship in just one package. For your convenience, we will split large orders into multiple boxes that are easier to carry.

Although all of your packages will have left our facility at the same time, please do not be surprised if they do not arrive at the same time. Shipping companies can sometimes be unpredictable, but rest assured your packages will be there soon. Please check your confirmation email for your tracking number(s).

Please order and assemble your hive well in advanced to the arrival of your bees so you know there will be no issues.

To qualify for free shipping, you must purchase $50 or more in products and live within the continental United States. If your order doesn't quite hit the $50 mark, we have a number of low cost accessories that can be added to your order.

If you wish to have beehives shipped to you out of the United States, then please contact us via email and we'll get you a rate quote.
