10 Frame Screened Bottom Board – Amish-Made with Insert & Entrance Reducer

sold in last days

Busy Bees 'N' More's Screened Bottom Board has the burden of bearing the entire weight of your hive. It is the last line of protection between your frames dangling over an open world of Small Hive Beetles, Varroa Mites, and a variety of other dangerous predators.

The screened bottom board allows for great ventilation during the summer, while keeping these predators out. Many beekeepers alternate between using the screened bottom boards during the summer and a solid bottom board once the weather starts to get colder.

Amish-Crafted Quality — Made in the USA

This 10-Frame Screened Bottom Board is expertly handcrafted by Amish woodworkers in Ohio, continuing a long tradition of precision, integrity, and true American craftsmanship. Built from premium Eastern White Pine, this bottom board offers durability, stability, and dependable performance throughout every season.

Improved Ventilation & Pest Management

A screened bottom board is one of the most effective upgrades you can add to a hive. The metal screen allows for excellent airflow, helping regulate hive temperature and reduce moisture buildup. This design also assists with varroa mite management, as fallen mites pass through the screen and cannot climb back onto bees.

Includes Removable Plastic Insert

The included plastic monitoring insert (15” x 21-3/4” x 1/8”) slides beneath the screen to:

✅ Reduce drafts during cooler months

✅ Assist with mite drop counting

✅ Provide optional debris control

The insert can be easily removed or adjusted depending on the season and your beekeeping preferences.

Ready to Use — No Assembly Required

This screened bottom board arrives fully assembled and ready to place on your hive.

Included in the 10-frame kit:

1 Screened Bottom Board (16-1/4″ x 22″ x 2-9/16″)

1 Plastic Insert (15” x 21-3/4” x 1/8”)

1 Entrance Reducer (14-5/8″ x 3/4″ x 3/4″)

Premium Eastern White Pine

Sustainably sourced from Michigan and Pennsylvania, Eastern White Pine is known for its excellent stability, smooth grain, and resistance to decay. The same durable pine used by early American pioneers to build their homes now provides long-lasting protection for your bees.

Busy Bees ’N’ More continues its mission of supplying authentic Amish-made hive components that outperform mass-produced imports—ensuring your bees receive both durability and craftsmanship that will last for years.

Our beehives leave the warehouse in mint condition. In transit wooden beehives can become damaged.

We ship your beehives out during business hours -- we typically ship within 24 to 48 hours of when the order was placed. In some cases we do ship your product out on the same day you order it, but if not, you can expect it to be shipped on the following day.

Please note that if you are ordering an assembled product, this may take a little more time.

We use both FedEx and UPS to ship our products, whichever is faster. We ship from central Ohio and on average products take 1 to 5 business days to reach your house.

We try our very best to get your beehives to you as fast as possible.

Depending on your order, at times our beehives can be too large to ship in just one package. For your convenience, we will split large orders into multiple boxes that are easier to carry.

Although all of your packages will have left our facility at the same time, please do not be surprised if they do not arrive at the same time. Shipping companies can sometimes be unpredictable, but rest assured your packages will be there soon. Please check your confirmation email for your tracking number(s).

Please order and assemble your hive well in advanced to the arrival of your bees so you know there will be no issues.

To qualify for free shipping, you must purchase $50 or more in products and live within the contiguous United States (excludes Alaska, Hawaii, & Puerto Rico). If your order doesn't quite hit the $50 mark, we have a number of low cost accessories that can be added to your order.

If you wish to have beehives shipped to you out of the United States, then please contact us via email and we'll get you a rate quote.
